Who orders a building and pest inspection report?

 A building and pest inspection report is ordered by the purchaser – the person wanting to buy the property or the vendor – the person selling the property.

I’m a vendor do I need to order a building and pest inspection report?

Here are three reasons why vendors have a building and pest inspection report completed beforehand:

  • By organising a building and pest inspection report beforehand it can allow the vendor to fix any defects that may have been identified.  The building inspector will again inspect the property after the defects have been rectified and update the report accordingly;
  • It is a great marketing tool to have at the vendor’s open home inspection. It allows potential purchasers to know the condition of the property when inspecting and is very helpful for online purchasers who are unable to attend in person;
  • It can help the vendor with a faster sale transaction as the purchaser is able to utilise the building and pest inspection report that has been provided by the vendor.  No need for the purchaser to organise and wait for another one to be completed.

A building and pest inspection report is recommended by industry professionals

It is highly recommended to engage a certified building and pest inspector before purchasing your residential or commercial property by industry professionals – real estate agents, conveyancers, solicitors, and property buyers agents.

For the one-time fee of a building and pest inspection report that could potentially save you thousands if not hundreds of thousands, it is worth the investment!
